Joseph Hanson
The back story...
Joseph Hanson started playing the violin at the age of 8. After a number of years playing violin, he started playing the trumpet in school band. By the time he reached the age of 14, Joseph knew he wanted to expand on his musical instrument knowledge and picked up a guitar for the first time and since then has never put it down. In addition to guitar, piano became his secondary instrument. After auditioning for Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in 1990 and being admitted in, he learned how to hone his craft by playing with some of North Florida’s finest young musicians. All through high school and college, Joseph played in a number of Jacksonville’s rock and jazz bands earning a reputation as a solid guitar player who could play in a variety of musical environments. Joseph is now the proud Owner/Instructor of his home-based business, Joseph Hanson Music Studio. Since 1993, he has opened his home to teach guitar and piano to over 500 students of all ages. He takes pride in sharing all of the musical knowledge he has learned over the years. In his 25th year in the business, he is still amazed at the talent that walks through his door. Joseph married his wife, Bettina in May 2011 and together have a beautiful daughter. When Joseph is not busy practicing or tending to his teaching schedule, he also helps volunteer for various organizations in his local community. He also enjoys cooking, fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family.
